Expecting to commence in 2014
Torrens University Australia (TUA) expects to commence teaching in Adelaide.
Torrens University Australia (TUA), Australia's third private university, expects to commence teaching in Adelaide to Australian and international students in early 2014 (subject to all regulatory approvals).
In October 2011, the South Australian Government approved an application from Laureate Education to establish the first new private Australian university in more than 20 years.
TUA will be part of the Laureate International Universities network, which serves more than 740,000 students through 60 accredited campus-based and online universities in 29 countries.
President William J. Clinton, 42nd President of the United States, serves as the Honorary Chancellor of the Laureate International Universities network, a role in which he offers advice on social responsibility, youth leadership and increasing access to higher education. "I am glad that the citizens of South Australia can now access this unique education that emphasizes both high quality academics and social responsibility," President Clinton said.
